Chris Padilla’s UFC 327 Victory Officially Overturned to Majority Draw
23-04-26

Chris Padilla’s apparent win at UFC 327 has officially been wiped off the board, with regulators in Florida confirming his bout with MarQuel Mederos is a majority draw.

Padilla was first announced as the winner by majority decision in Florida with scores of 29-27, 29-27, and 28-28. About an hour later, it was revealed that two judges had actually submitted 28-28 scorecards, changing the result to a majority draw.

Padilla’s side moved quickly, filing a protest with the Florida Athletic Commission over the scoring error. According to Padilla’s management team, “Florida commission responded to our protest, they denied us,” and added, “They stand by their scorecards. Result stays.”

The fight also featured a key penalty, as Mederos was deducted a point in Round 3 for multiple eye pokes. Despite the correction and protest denial, Padilla remains unbeaten in the UFC, though he did not improve his octagon record to 5-0 at UFC 327. He had stopped three of his first four UFC opponents, including a TKO win over Ismael Bonfim in November.
