Charles Oliveira Inks Eight-Fight UFC Deal, BMF Champ Locked In

Charles Oliveira has committed his future to the UFC, signing a new long-term contract that will keep him in the Octagon for another eight fights.

The deal, revealed by his coach Diego Lima, sets Oliveira up for a potential total of 45 UFC appearances if he completes the contract. Lima also indicated the agreement includes bouts mapped out until Oliveira is 40 years old.

"It was a wonderful deal," Lima said, adding, "There's not a single bad thing to say, it was an incredible deal. ... We've got fights lined up until Charles is 40 years old. So for those people who were saying he was going to retire, just wait a bit longer."

Oliveira, a former UFC lightweight champion and the promotion's all-time finishes leader, currently holds the UFC BMF title. After a first-round knockout loss to Ilia Topuria in July in a bid to regain the 155-pound belt, he rebounded by submitting Mateusz Gamrot and then earning a dominant decision over Max Holloway in March to capture the BMF strap.

Topuria and Justin Gaethje are scheduled to unify belts at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 at the White House in Washington, D.C., as Oliveira’s new chapter with the promotion begins to take shape.
