Carlos Ulberg’s stunning finish of Jiri Prochazka has been named MMA Junkie’s April 2026 Knockout of the Month.
MMA Junkie highlighted five nominees, but Ulberg’s first-round knockout of Prochazka to claim the vacant light heavyweight title in Miami took the top spot. Ulberg scored the win with a left hook and follow-up punches at 3:45 of Round 1, despite suffering a torn ACL in his right knee earlier in the fight.
The April slate was stacked with highlight-reel stoppages. Alice Pereira delivered a step-knee knockout of Hailey Cowan in a women’s bantamweight bout, while Dean Garnett scored a spinning back elbow KO of Ciaran Clarke at bantamweight.
Jay Jay Wilson added to the chaos with a first-round finish of Darragh Kelly, knocking him out with a left hook after a body kick. Mario Barbosa made a statement in his UFC debut by knocking out Dennis Buzukja with a left hook in just 80 seconds.
Pereira improved to 6-1 in MMA and 1-1 in the UFC with her win, as Cowan dropped to 7-5 overall and 0-3 in the UFC. Barbosa moved to 18-2 in MMA and 1-0 in the UFC, while Buzukja fell to 12-6 and 1-4 in the promotion.
Ulberg’s victory over Prochazka pushed him to 14-1 in MMA and 10-1 in the UFC. Prochazka now stands at 32-6-1 in MMA and 6-3 in the UFC.
