Bryce Mitchell says he suffered a painful detergent burn on his chest while preparing for his short-notice bout at UFC Vegas 118.

Mitchell is slated to face Santiago Luna at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., June 6, 2026, in his second UFC appearance at Bantamweight after moving down from Featherweight.

"It was accidental, but I’ll tell you what happened," Mitchell said while explaining the incident. "I had some laundry detergent that got stuck in my shirt, and I started to do a workout. And that shirt and laundry detergent got all on my skin, and the suds were coming out of my shirt. I didn’t know what was happening, so I kept training — at first, I thought I was sweating out all of the milk that I drank because I drank a gallon of milk. Then it started getting bubbly and foamy, and I was like, ‘Nah, bro, that’s not milk, that’s soap.’"

"By the time we figured out it was soap, my nipples were already on fire, and it literally burnt my nipples bad, man," he added, before offering a warning: "So, you make sure what detergent you use because your nipples are sensitive to that type of stuff."

Mitchell stated that his nipples were badly burned but are now okay. He enters UFC Vegas 118 coming off a unanimous decision win over Said Nurmagomedov in his new Bantamweight weight class.
