Brandon Royval Submits Lone'er Kavanagh After Wild Battle at UFC 329
12-07-26

Brandon Royval snapped his recent skid in emphatic fashion, submitting Lone'er Kavanagh on the UFC 329 main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Royval secured a rear-naked choke at 3:40 of Round 3, ending a fight in which both men were stunned at various points during the first two rounds.

In the final frame, Royval took Kavanagh to the canvas and methodically worked through multiple submission attempts before locking in the choke. Kavanagh tapped and appeared to go out less than a second later.

Royval entered UFC 329 on a two-fight losing streak to Joshua Van and Manel Kape, but came in with a reputation for action, holding five Fight of the Night bonuses in 13 UFC appearances and potentially adding a sixth with this performance.

Kavanagh, who previously scored a major upset win over Brandon Moreno in February after a loss to Charles Johnson, saw his momentum halted by Royval’s third-round finish.
