Bogdan Guskov has been tapped to replace an injured Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of UFC Fight Night 282 on July 25 at Etihad Arena, where he will face Magomed Ankalaev.
Rountree Jr. withdrew from the scheduled bout after suffering an injury, prompting the UFC to reshuffle the Abu Dhabi headliner. The promotion announced the main event change through its social media platforms.
Guskov was already booked for a quick turnaround, as he had been scheduled to face Jan Blachowicz in a rematch on Aug. 1 after they fought to a draw in December at UFC 323. With Guskov now moving into the UFC Fight Night 282 main event, the UFC did not reveal if Blachowicz would receive a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 283.
Guskov enters the Ankalaev matchup unbeaten since losing his UFC debut in 2023, a run that included four consecutive finishes before his draw with Blachowicz. Ankalaev, meanwhile, is coming off a loss of the light heavyweight title in a rematch against Alex Pereira at UFC 320 in October, which snapped a 12-fight unbeaten streak that featured 10 wins and two draws.
