04-05-26

Beneil Dariush says he will step away for a while after suffering a first-round TKO loss to Quillan Salkilld in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 275 at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.

Dariush dropped Salkilld early in the bout but was ultimately finished in the opening frame, marking his fourth knockout loss in his past five fights, all in the first round.

Addressing his condition and immediate plans afterward, Dariush said, "I’m good friends. I have no injuries and I appreciate everyone checking on me. I’ll be taking some time off and heading over to Sydney tomorrow for the week. God bless."

Dariush now holds a professional record of 23-8-1 in MMA and 17-8-1 in the UFC. His only victory in his last five outings was a unanimous decision over Renato Moicano at UFC 317 last June. Salkilld improves to 21-1 in MMA and 5-0 in the UFC with the win.
