Belal Muhammad Vows to ‘Be Back’ After Third Straight UFC Defeat
07-06-26

Belal Muhammad says he is not done competing after dropping a unanimous decision to Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Fight Night 278.

The bout took place at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, where Muhammad came up short on the judges’ scorecards, marking his third consecutive loss in the division.

Despite the setback, Muhammad made his intentions clear regarding his future in the UFC, saying he will "be back".

Muhammad is a former welterweight champion. He captured the 170-pound belt from Leon Edwards in July 2024, then lost the title to Jack Della Maddalena in May 2025 before suffering another defeat to Ian Machado Garry that November ahead of his loss to Bonfim.

On the same UFC Fight Night 278 card, Muhammad also praised teammate Brendan Allen, who defeated Edmen Shahbazyan in the co-main event.
