Belal Muhammad and Matt Schnell have been honored by the UFC for hitting a major anti-doping milestone ahead of UFC Vegas 118.
At Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, Muhammad received a custom jacket after passing 50 drug tests during his UFC career. UFC executive Jeff Novitzky presented the jacket and praised Muhammad’s professionalism and cardio as the welterweight prepares to face Gabriel Bonfim in this weekend’s main event.
Muhammad, who debuted in the UFC in 2016, enters the bout on a two-fight losing streak and is looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat.
Schnell was also awarded a jacket for reaching 50 clean tests. According to Novitzky, Schnell has been in the testing pool since his run on The Ultimate Fighter season 24 and now heads into a matchup with Alessandro Costa, who accepted the fight on short notice.
Schnell is coming off a submission loss to Joseph Morales and is 2-4 in his last six outings.
Other UFC names who have received similar jackets in the post-United States Anti-Doping Agency era include Islam Makhachev, Dricus du Plessis, Merab Dvalishvili, Petr Yan and Brad Tavares.
