Arnold Allen Promises ‘Career-Best’ Showing vs. Costa at UFC FN 276
13-05-26

Arnold Allen is aiming for the best performance of his career when he meets Melquizael Costa in the main event of UFC Fight Night 276 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Allen enters the bout with a 20-4 professional record, including 11-3 in the UFC, and is looking to rebound after losing three of his past four fights. Costa brings a 26-7 record and a 6-2 UFC mark, and is currently riding a six-fight winning streak with four victories by finish.

“I think you're going to see a career-best performance from me,” Allen said. “I'm going to come out and expect to impress.”

Allen expects an action-heavy clash with Costa. “I think that's why they made the matchup, right? We're two aggressive southpaws,” he said. “He's a finisher, I throw a lot of hands, both of us don't really wrestle. I think he probably wrestles more than me. I've seen him wrestle in his fights a bit more, like trips and grappling. Yeah, two good strikers, aggresive strikers. He's a finisher. I try and punch people. Yeah, it's going to be good.”

Allen views his win over Gilbert Melendez at UFC 239 in 2019 as his most refined performance to date, and he has also previously shared the cage with Max Holloway.
