Arman Tsarukyan Urges UFC To Cut Michael Chandler After KO Loss
17-06-26

Arman Tsarukyan is calling for Michael Chandler to be released from the UFC following Chandler’s latest knockout defeat at UFC Freedom 250.

Chandler was knocked out by Mauricio Ruffy at the event, which took place at the White House in Washington DC. The result marked Chandler’s fourth straight defeat, and he has now been stopped in three of his past four fights. He has not won a fight since knocking out Tony Ferguson in May 2022.

“How they let Michael Chandler fight?” Tsarukyan said, before escalating his stance. “Please cut him. Just fire him. Tell UFC they've got to fire him. Yeah, because he is losing all of his fights.”

Tsarukyan also commented on Chandler’s physical condition and durability. “To have this physique at 40 years old is something crazy, you know,” he said. “I would like to have the same body when I'm going to be 40. He trains probably twice a day everyday. He has no chin anymore unfortunately. That's why you have to leave in the right moment.”

Tsarukyan, who holds a 23-3 professional record and is 10-2 in the UFC, is seeking a title shot against lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. Chandler, a former UFC title challenger and Bellator champion, now stands at 23-11 in MMA and 2-6 in the UFC.
