Arman Tsarukyan says his next UFC appearance is already set, and he expects it to be a championship bout targeted for September in Los Angeles.
Speaking during UFC 328 fight week, Tsarukyan laid out his plans for the coming months. He said he is waiting on an opponent for the title opportunity and added that BMF champion Charles Oliveira is among the options being considered.
"My next fight is the title fight, which is probably [in] September," Tsarukyan said, adding, "[It will likely happen in] L.A."
In the meantime, Tsarukyan is staying active. This past weekend in Dallas, he scored a technical fall win over Mugzy in the opening bout of RAF 9, and he is already scheduled to compete again at RAF 10 against former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.
Tsarukyan is also in a standby role around the UFC 328 main event between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. He is serving as a backup fighter for the headliner, though he will not be weighing in. As he put it: "But I’m a backup for the White House, too. If someone pulled out, gets hurt, [I’m in]."
