Anthony Smith returns from a brief retirement to face Chase Sherman in the main event of Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA’s Smith vs. Sherman fight card in the Dominican Republic on Friday night.
The event marks the first promotion run by Jorge Masvidal since November 2014, as Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA stages a card built around its new heavyweight and lightweight tournaments.
Smith, described as a one-time UFC title challenger, meets UFC veteran Sherman in the headliner, while the co-main event features a heavyweight tournament matchup between past UFC title challenger Thiago Santos and Guto Inocente.
Gamebred is using this card to launch tournaments designed to crown new heavyweight and lightweight champions, adding stakes across the lineup in its return to the promotional scene.
