Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on Saturday as British authorities seek their extradition to the United Kingdom on new criminal charges.
The brothers were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals outside the James L. Knight Center, where they were expected to host the debut event of Russia-based bareknuckle boxing promotion IBA Bare Knuckle alongside Jon Jones. British prosecutors have moved to charge Andrew Tate with 32 additional counts and Tristan Tate with six additional counts of criminal misconduct.
Attorney Joseph McBride, speaking about the situation, said, "What's important to know is despite all the horrible allegations against these guys, they have been traveling the world the past few years without incident," and added, "They have been making court appearances in Romania and not missing a single one. We are going to trial in Florida and it looks promising, If we win, the entire narrative collapses."
The Tates were previously arrested in Romania in 2022 and accused of luring women for sexual exploitation, but that case did not move forward. They returned to the United States in February 2025 and were seen at a Power Slap event in March in Las Vegas and at UFC 327 in Miami in April. Andrew Tate, who kickboxed professionally from 2007 to 2020, returned in December 2025 for an exhibition boxing match, losing a majority decision to Chase DeMoor.
