26-04-26

Aljamain Sterling closed out UFC Vegas 116 in winning fashion, earning a unanimous decision victory over Youssef Zalal in Saturday’s main event.

Across 25 minutes, Sterling relied on his grappling and steady ground-and-pound to control Zalal and secure the judges’ nod.

The result continues Sterling’s successful run since moving to the featherweight division at 145 pounds, where he has now won three of four bouts.

His only setback at the new weight came against Movsar Evloev, while his latest performance drew positive reactions from fellow fighters on social media.

A former bantamweight champion, Sterling is now firmly established in his new division following his UFC Vegas 116 headliner win.
