Alex Pereira has once again gone after referee Herb Dean, extending a feud that began after Pereira’s loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC White House and flared up again following Dean’s work at UFC Baku.
Pereira previously blamed Dean for not recognizing what he viewed as strikes to the back of his head during the Gane fight at UFC White House, where he was stopped after a barrage of shots on the feet following punches and elbows absorbed on the ground. He criticized Dean for not addressing what he considered illegal blows and for not pausing the action for fouls.
The former light heavyweight and middleweight champion has maintained a public vendetta against Dean since that loss and turned his attention back to the veteran official after UFC Baku. In the Shara Magomedov vs. Michel Pereira matchup on that card, Dean issued multiple warnings for hair pulling and an eye poke but did not deduct points.
Pereira’s frustration was distilled into a sharp message, calling, "Herb Dean … coward," and adding, "Bullet" as he continued to air his grievances publicly.
