Alex Pereira Jumps to Heavyweight for Interim Title at UFC White House
23-04-26

Alex Pereira is set to move up to heavyweight and face Ciryl Gane for an interim title in the co-main event of UFC White House on June 14.

The bout will take place on the White House lawn, where the two-time light heavyweight champion will make his heavyweight debut against Gane. If Pereira wins, he would become the first UFC fighter to capture belts in three divisions.

Pereira has shared footage of his heavyweight training ahead of the fight, including hitting pads with coach Glover Teixeira.

The former UFC middleweight titleholder previously defeated Israel Adesanya to claim that belt, and later became a two-time light heavyweight champion when his knockout of Magomed Ankalaev avenged his only loss in that division. His resume also includes knockout wins over Adesanya, Jiri Prochazka, Sean Strickland, Khalil Rountree, Jamahal Hill, and Ankalaev.
