Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane squared up for a tense staredown on Friday ahead of their UFC Freedom 250 interim title fight in Washington, D.C.
The faceoff went down at the Lincoln Memorial during the final UFC Freedom 250 fight week press conference, setting the tone for Sunday’s co-headliner at the White House.
Pereira will move up in weight again to face Gane, entering the bout with a 13-3 MMA record and a 10-2 mark in the UFC. Gane comes in at 13-2 in MMA, also holding a 10-2 record inside the UFC.
Pereira is a former light heavyweight and middleweight titleholder and can become the first fighter to hold some version of a UFC belt in three different weight classes. Gane, meanwhile, can join Justin Gaethje as one of the only fighters with two interim title reigns.
