08-05-26

Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane have officially squared up ahead of their interim heavyweight title showdown at UFC Freedom 250.

The two heavyweights faced off in Newark, New Jersey before their interim title fight, which is scheduled as the June 14 co-headliner at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Pereira enters the bout as a former light heavyweight and middleweight titleholder, carrying a 13-3 MMA record and a 10-2 mark in the UFC. Gane steps in with a 13-2 MMA record and an identical 10-2 UFC slate.

The stakes are historic on both sides. Pereira can become the first fighter in UFC history to hold some version of gold in three weight classes, while Gane can join Justin Gaethje as the only fighters to hold an interim belt twice.
