Alex Pereira Chases Third UFC Title in Heavyweight Move at Freedom 250
10-06-26

Alex Pereira is set to pursue a historic third UFC championship when he moves up to heavyweight to face Ciryl Gane for the interim title at UFC Freedom 250.

UFC Freedom 250 takes place Sunday at the White House in Washington, with two titles on the line at the top of the card. Pereira, a former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion, vacated his 205-pound belt to make the jump to heavyweight, where he meets Gane in the co-main event while champion Tom Aspinall is sidelined.

Pereira enters the bout with a 13-3 professional MMA record and a 10-2 mark in the UFC. Gane brings a 13-2 professional record and a 10-2 UFC slate into the interim heavyweight title clash.

UFC president Dana White has stated that capturing a third title would make Alex Pereira his pick for MMA GOAT over Jon Jones.
