Alex Pereira has touched down in Washington DC at 258 pounds ahead of his interim heavyweight title clash with Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250.

Pereira is set to face Gane in Sunday’s co-main event on the South Lawn of the White House, where the Brazilian star will compete for the interim heavyweight championship.

A win would make Pereira the first fighter to capture a UFC belt in three divisions, after previously holding titles at middleweight and light heavyweight. He is a former 185-pound champion and later moved up to 205 pounds, where he defeated Jan Blachowicz, knocked out Jiri Prochazka to win the title, and defended the belt three times.

Pereira relinquished the light heavyweight championship to pursue this heavyweight opportunity at UFC Freedom 250. UFC president Dana White said Pereira would surpass Jon Jones as the greatest UFC fighter of all time with a win at UFC Freedom 250.
