20-Year-Old Alice Pereira Scores Vicious Step-Knee KO at UFC Vegas

Alice Pereira made a statement at UFC Fight Night 272, knocking out Hailey Cowan with a step knee in their bantamweight clash at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Pereira ended the fight with a clean knockout that technically required no follow-up shots, though she still landed strikes on Cowan after the blow. The victory moved Pereira to 6-1 in MMA and 1-1 in the UFC, while Cowan fell to 7-5 overall and 0-3 in the promotion.

Pereira, the youngest female to ever compete in the UFC, debuted in the organization at age 19 in September, dropping a split decision to Montse Rendon. Before joining the roster, four of her five regional wins came by knockout.

Cowan, who signed with the UFC in 2022 and has competed three times for the promotion, has seen her career affected by injuries.
